My blog post about Bee bots

 Bee bots

Today was the first time we worked with bee bots.  A bee bot is a small robot that is about 10 cm tall and 10cm long. You give them instructions to move where you want them to move. I liked playing with the bee bots. They are yellow and black just like bees that is why they are called bee-bots.

When it was my turn  with them I pushed the bee bots buttons. I was really excited because you can give them instructions. There are arrows on the top of the bee-bot, those arrows give the bee-bots instructions that make them move and make them go where you want them to go.

When I laid out my pictures I pushed some of the arrows. Then brung the bee-bot back to the start and pushed go. Off it went with a big speed of lightning. Me and Matiria made the grid that we were using

Our reading group read a book that is called McBungles African safari. We had to make pictures to put on the grid.  Lay them out were you want them to go and then mark the places on the bee bot. Then when you push go it goes in the order you push left, right, back and front.

So that is the end of our amazing reading group. I loved reading group this week.

Tuahine lighthouse

 Tuahine lighthouse

Last term in term 2 the Moana syndicate walk down along the beach. The walk to the Tuahine lighthouse took us about 2 hours two get there and back. Room four (Honu) made a metaphor of the tuahine lighthouse. You had to do it by yourself.

It was so fun and interesting. I and some other people are still finishing of the lighthouse metaphor. In my lighthouse metaphor I have included all of the detail it needs I have even included all of the drips, leaks and rocks. The lighthouse lights up our learning in a lot of different ways. Some of the ways are shine your light, shine bright and a new one we made up is lead the way. For us to shine our light we have these things called shind cards. Your teacher will give one out to you if you have been shining your light and a lot of other ways. This is our lighthouse metaphor.

My Adventure To Enviro Center

My favorite trip to the Tairawhiti Enviro Center
Last week on thursday our class went to the enviro center with
 room 1.
I was so excited to go because I love going on a bus. We all lined up on the deck waiting for the bus to come. We all got our self in to a buddie. The bus was a really big. Me and my friends were really disappointed because our friend Sarah left on wednesday to go back to America and we had our trip on thursday.

When we got to the enviro center we jumped out of the bus. Then we went into the enviro center. it looked way cooler than I thought. we got splitted up into groups. They told us the different rooms and what they do.

The first room we went in to had so much food. There was eggs, bread, cupcakes cake, cookies and alot more. All of that was the food that people throw out or it good be expired. They said the food can still be eaten if it is just accupel days over its expired date. The lady showed us a big plastic container with two small cup-cakes in it. There were lots of boxes with food in them. The boxes had labels on them they were different names of places that they would give it to. Then we moved to the next room.

The next place was composting the lady made us grab a big had fill on compost it was gross. She made us try guess what was in it. It had the worst smell. Then she took us over to a table and asked us some questions about what you put in a compost. we started to rip up some cardboard boxes so she could put it the compost. Now it was time to move on to the next  activity.

The next activity was worm farming. At worm farming the lady gave us a little handful of dirt-worms in it. It felt really cool. She made us it back . When we put it back she picked to people to do a little test. The test was about what you put in a worm farm. There was a lot of contaters on the table they all had a different food in them. The two people she choose where Betsy and Indie. Indie had to put the things that they do not like in on the left side and Betsy put the thing that they do like on the right. Then after that we had to move to the next activity.

Then we went back in side. in side there were bean bags they were very loud because they had plastic bottles in them. We went into this really cool room  that had big plastic food. She ask us some questions. We left the room and watched a video about when people put so much rubbish into the sea and when there was a big flood and all of the rubbish aperd out of the water. It took so long to clean up. More just keeps on appearing and appearing. that was the end of the video.
Then the bus came and we saw koka Lias old class and they all new her. It took the bus ten minutes to get here but it was worth it.
